Shrinkwrap Protection from the Elements

protection from the elements

If your company needs to ship products to customers, you want to guarantee that they will be in excellent condition when they reach their final destination. Zormot’s customers regularly ship items ranging from very large metal pieces to small, delicate electronics and all of them need the same high standard of protection. Our shrinkwrap provides comprehensive protection from the elements. Let’s go through the challenges it needs to meet while in transport.

How Tough is Zormot’s Shrinkwrap?

While some people shrink wrap items and store them indoors, most items will experience a full spectrum of the elements while they are shrink-wrapped. This means that the wrap has to hold up in any weather or temperature range, including:

Extreme Heat

Shrink wrap can stand up to extreme heat far better than you or I can. Because most shrinkwrap also contains UV blockers, it will not degrade under strong sunlight either. You may wonder, since you apply shrink wrap with a heat tool, won’t extreme heat cause it to shrink more? No! You don’t have to worry about this. Heat guns work at very high temperatures of up to over 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit. High summer temperatures of over 100 degrees Fahrenheit will not cause additional shrinkage.

Arctic Cold

Many places in the United States regularly experience extreme heat and cold, including the Midwest. Fortunately, shrinkwrap can perform in both and survive fluctuations in temperature. Zormot is based in West Michigan, so we have plenty of experience with cold temperatures! All of our shrinkwrap is manufactured from 100% virgin resin and will hold up under the coldest temperatures without cracking or becoming brittle. Whether you’re shipping in the middle of January or needing your boat to survive the entire winter unscathed, shrinkwrap performs beautifully.

Heavy Rains

When shrinkwrap is correctly applied, it provides a waterproof barrier around whatever it is covering, and it can be heat sealed to entirely envelope an item or a pallet of products. The resin is waterproof, so as long as there are no holes in the wrap, it will keep water out. Don’t worry about corners or tight spots. Shrinkwrap when stretched is still fully waterproof.

High Wind

Many products are shipped on flatbed trucks and exposed to high winds as well as rain or snow. Fortunately, when shrinkwrap is applied, it seals as tight as a drum. It doesn’t move or flap in the wind like a tarp. It doesn’t rely on ropes to stay tied down either. Because it doesn’t flap in the wind, it won’t cause abrasion or chafing to the products or items that it is protecting which means they will arrive at their destination undamaged.

As you can tell, whether you’re concerned about wind, rain, heat, or cold, shrink wrapping your products should put your mind at ease. Shrinkwrap is very tough, and it offers great protection from the elements to items of all shapes and sizes.
